There is a time in every parent’s life where they ask, “Where is the best place to take my kids to get their hair cut?” Luckily for us, there is a new children’s hair salon and spa in the San Gabriel Valley that just opened last August.
A child hair salon like you’ve never seen before; with floor-to-ceiling murals, costumed characters, games, tablets and numerous books for children to choose from, and to top it all off, a magic box that dispenses a prize to your child at the end of their service.
Snip-Its Monrovia is a premier family hair salon that specializes in services for infants, toddlers and pre-teens. They speak true to their motto of “We speak Kids.” I love how they turn an ordinary experience, and in some families the agonizing experience, of getting a child’s haircut into a full-on adventure. All of their staff is well trained to make the kids as comfortable as possible. They partner with Autism Speaks- an organization that trains and equips stylists to work with children who have special needs related to autism.
We recently came here for my daughter’s haircut and a spa service. Prior to the start of her service, she received an “Adventure pass”, which at the end of the service was redeemed for a prize.
Snip-Its Monrovia’s experienced stylists can handle any texture and length of hair. My daughter’s hair has been prone to tangles and knots, so I decided it was time to have it cut. Yvonne, Snip-Its Manager, is a master at her craft. She patiently listened to our hair dilemma and offered options on different ways to cut her hair to minimize the tangles. We went with the long layer look and cut it in a way that it would still look great as it grows out. The atmosphere is perfect for kids; each child being serviced received a tablet to watch a show or play a video game, as I mentioned before, Snip-Its Monrovia lives up to its motto “We speak Kids.”
My daughter, not one to shy away from a haircut or any beauty service, was in pure delight as she was given a luxurious robe and slippers to wear - all of this set the mood of course! The spa started with soaking her hands and feet in warm, bubbly, water which then included an elegant massage for her hands and feet that had her smiling from ear to ear. Next, the application of a sweet smelling lotion left her skin silky soft. Finally, her nails were painted with the color of her choice and all of this made my princess really feel like a princess!
In addition to grooming services, Snip-Its also provides pampering spa services and birthday party packages for kids. The chic and fun spa/party room can host up to 10 children. For larger groups, after-hours parties are available upon request.
Snip-Its Monrovia is located at 182 W. Foothill Blvd and can be reached at 626-239-7442. Hours of operation are 10am to 6pm Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
