MONROVIA
The City of Monrovia's 4th of July Concert & Fireworks Show is scheduled for Saturday, July 4 in Library Park, 321 South Myrtle Avenue. Entertainment will begin at 3:00 p.m. with recorded music, followed by a live band playing from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The Fireworks Show is free of charge and is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. and will last approximately 20 minutes. Spectators may reserve a park space no larger than 10 x 10 feet and must be supervised at all times.
MONTEREY PARK
Residents could celebrate the nation's independence from 3 to 9 p.m. at Barnes Park.
LONG BEACH

Join us as the City of South Pasadena celebrates the Fourth of July with the 34th Annual Festival of Balloons. The day begins at 7:00 a.m. with a savory pancake breakfast, put on by the Kiwanis Club, at the South Pasadena Fire Station. At 10:30 a.m. the opening ceremonies will take place at the Library Community Room; immediately followed by the start of the parade down Mission Street. The festivities continue at Garfield Park in the afternoon, followed by the grand finale fireworks show at the South Pasadena High School, at 9:00 p.m.

WALNUT
Suzanne Park: The event will also feature food trucks, games, a pie-eating contest and patriotic face painting. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, canopies and picnic baskets. No barbecues, grills or other cooking appliances will be allowed. The L.A. County Fire Explorers will sell hamburgers, nachos and other food. The best places to see the fireworks at 9 p.m. are in the park or Suzanne Middle School next door. To register for the pie-eating contest or for more information, call the Community Services Department at 909-598-5605.
WHITTIER
Friendly Hills Country Club: A private Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 4 begins at 6 p.m. with games, face painting, live music and a BBQ buffet. Fireworks at 9 p.m. 8500 Villaverde Dr. in Whittier.
