Barnhart School Summer Program 2015
At schools everywhere across the Greater Los Angeles Area, parents, teachers, and students alike are getting ready for their final terms of the year before the rush of the summer months. The ending of another school year marks preparation time for final projects, tests, and presentations. It also marks an opportunity for parents to begin thinking about how best to utilize the approaching break to ensure their children stay sharp, and are best prepared for life in a new grade. Picking out the right summer program from the sea of choices available can be challenging, but the highly experienced academic and extracurricular team at Barnhart School are offering a comprehensive and affordable summer program that any child will enjoy and that parents are sure to appreciate.
The 2015 Barnhart School Summer Session has something for everyone, and is now enrolling. From full day summer camp sessions, to academic enrichment courses, this fully featured, renowned program is designed to stimulate, challenge, and captivate, and is open to all. Formed out of a Barnhart tradition of excellence that is well known and valued in the local community, this exciting program prides itself on its ability to provide a wide range of outstanding options to appeal to any child, no matter what their interests may be. Parents of program participants are able to enjoy the comfort of knowing that their child is being cared for by a team of dedicated specialists and educators who are committed to providing a warm and friendly environment that is mentally engaging and—most importantly—always fun. LEGO robotics, music ensemble, video game design, soccer camp, pre-algebra, and ceramics are only a handful of the many exciting opportunities offered by the 2015 Barnhart School Summer Session.
Participants will be empowered to pursue and develop their own interests while instructors foster their passions through individually focused, hands-on engagement. Barnhart believes that children are at their best and most able to learn and develop when they are able to express themselves fully in an environment that rewards experimentation and critical thinking. This program embodies these principals to create a positive atmosphere of growth.
The Barnhart Summer Program is divided into two, three-week sessions and two summer camp weeks in order to maximize sign up opportunities and remain flexible with your schedule.
Full Day Summer Camp
June 15th, is the exciting launch of the first one week, full day summer camp session! This year, the theme of summer camp session 1 is Superhero Week in which each participant will take the hero’s journey, completing fun challenges along the way that promote teamwork, fitness, and unlocking their own hidden abilities. Themed lunches will be included, and participants will go on a field trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain for a day for a day of adventure and thrills! Dates are June 15th to June 19th.
Full day summer camp returns August 3rd to August 7th for a second round of excitement for Carnival Week! Participants will work together through performances, fun activities, and collaborative games all within a fun and goofy overarching carnival theme for the ultimate shindig that never ends and is only fueled by their own creativity! Themed lunches, and a trip to the Orange County Fair are included.
Academic Enrichment Courses
In between both full day summer camp rounds are two separate, three week comprehensive summer school sessions from June 22nd to July 10th then July 13th to July 31st.
A large list of courses will be offered during the day through five periods that cover a wide spectrum of subjects that include art, music, math, writing, second language, sports, and extra-curricular activities.
Participants can sign up for as many courses as they like to fill all five periods, or select a single class. Courses options are designed to cater to a variety of different grade levels from Kindergarten introductory courses to 8th grade high school prep classes, and are balanced to appeal to varying interests and skill levels. Whether your child needs a refresher course before the new year, or wants to pursue one of our exciting extra-curricular programs from basketball camp to skateboarding, the Barnhart School Summer Courses will challenge, engage, and stimulate for a fully fulfilling experience.
Barnhart School, located on Colorado Blvd in Arcadia, is dedicated to building and maintaining a culture of intelligence, integrity, and involvement to help children excel in a K through 8th grade environment through individual attention and hands-on learning.
