“Flip Out” for the ultimate birthday party at Club Champion Gymnastics

By Kathy E, MK Arcadia Publisher August 13, 2017

I feel like I literally blinked and my daughter turned 8 last month, and just like that, another birthday was upon us. My ”tumbling queen,” as I call her, loves doing stunts and cartwheels everywhere she goes. I think she would choose to live on her hands if she could, so it was an obvious choice for her to host her birthday party at Club Champion Gymnastics in Monrovia.
Club Champion is SoCal’s #1 Gymnastic Studio, and they have three locations that host birthday parties: Pasadena, Monrovia, and their new studio coming soon in La Canada!
Each of their gymnasiums houses all the usual gymnastics equipment — springy flooring, trampoline, beams and bars. After seeing the impressive size and space, we booked the venue.

The two-hour party package included three coaches and a party host, who were all AMAZING. All of them helped me put up and take down decorations, they were engaging, full of energy, and entertained the kids throughout the party. When the party started, they led 20 kids onto the gym floor, and immediately learned each of their names. The parents were able to watch, from a seating area, and enjoy the kids being entertained throughout the party.

The coaches led the kids through different obstacle courses and even incorporated the party theme into the activity. One group learned how to do flips safely on the bars while the other group played on the large trampoline. The most attractive attraction, however, was a long springy mat where students could get a running start and perform their stunts. Then the groups switched, which allowed for all the kids to enjoy all of the activity stations available. The last 15 minutes were free play, which was a brilliant idea, the coaches allowed the kids to create their own obstacle course with all the gymnastic equipment available and it was a sight to see; a fort was built, a relay race happened, and some major flipping action happened on the trampoline! All the kids were excited and engaged in all of the activities, and at the end of the party, the coaches gathered the kids and arranged them so that the parents could get a group photo.
What drew me to Club Champion’s Gymnastics was the amount of party time in the gym space. Most venues offer a limited amount of time to play and with only certain equipment. For our active and rowdy group, the energy expenditure was a priority for having a successful party!

All the activities offered and amazing coaches made my daughter’s 8th birthday party a hit. It also gave the parents of 20 tired kids a restful night’s sleep.
