Last week, we received our first food delivery from Gobble Inc., a subscription box service that delivers fresh food and ingredients right to your front door! I was beyond ecstatic to receive it, and was anxiously waiting for my meals to come in the mail. Yes, you heard right, a box of fresh food, perfectly proportioned for a gourmet, home cooked meal with 1 pan in under 10 minutes! It takes longer than 10 minutes for me to order and pick up take out! This is hands down, the most exciting subscription box I have ever received and I felt like a giddy little kid on Christmas morning!
Those that know me personally, know that I am a foodie at heart. I love to try new flavors and exotic cuisines. I also enjoy cooking, but as a mom who cooks supper for my family just about every night of the week, I’ll admit I was getting into a rut with our weekly meal rotation. To top it off we were in the middle of a busy dance season for my daughter and I just don’t have time to plan a dinner and go to the grocery store. The mere thought of spending the hours meal planning and grocery shopping after a long week was utterly exhausting. The box arrived with three separate meals with the ingredients already measured, resulting in minimal preparation time. The ingredients for each meal were in separate labeled bags, and the protein packed separately on ice. I love how everything was organized into three different bags and I didn’t have to take the time to do inventory or to sort the ingredients for the meal. I can just put the bags in my refrigerator and grab them when I am ready to cook dinner. The only extra ingredients I ever need for a Gobble Inc. recipe was olive oil, salt, and pepper. Each meal included its own recipe card with a beautiful picture of the finished product along with three straight forward, easy to follow step-by-step instructions and photos making gourmet cooking a breeze!
Gobble, Inc. has designed each meal to take no more than 10 minutes to prepare from start to finish. The bistro filets had a ton of flavor from the demi-glace and thank goodness for the step-by-step recipe card, because it was my first time pan-roasting a steak, (seriously, I know, where have I been?) and it was delicious! We all LOVED the roasted potato wedges and I thought it was brilliant of Gobble, Inc. to include a variety of certified ‘Gobble Kid’ friendly meals on their site for those with particular taste buds.
My kids both ate all of the veggies and they loved the crispiness of the potato wedges!
The next night I made Caribbean Shrimp Rondon. This was a hit with my entire family. I don’t think my son had ever tried cabbage or curry before, but he loves shrimp and we were able to convince him to try it and he loved it! The best part? The meal portions are generous and was enough to feed my family with plenty of leftovers from each meal.
